Father Georgios Athanasopoulos

Born in America and raised in Piraeus, Greece, Father George studied Classics at the University of Athens and pursued a Master’s in Intercultural Education at the Democritus University of Thrace.

He was ordained a Deacon on the 3rd of September 2023 and a Presbyter on the 30th of March 2024 by Bishop Maximos of Melitene. After serving in Birmingham and across the Midlands, he was appointed Priest-in-Charge of our church on the 1st of October 2024 by Archbishop Nikitas.
